How do I create an account?
Download the Steer app and sign in with your Google account. The process is quick and secure, using Google's authentication.
What information do I need to provide?
Your date of birth, exact time of birth, and place of birth. The more accurate your birth time, the more precise your chart and insights.
I don't know my exact birth time. Can I still use the app?
Yes. You can use Steer with an approximate birth time, though some insights will be less precise. Your birth certificate, hospital records, or a family member are good sources for an accurate time.
How does the AI chat work?
The AI reads your birth chart and current planetary periods (computed with the Swiss Ephemeris) and answers your questions in plain language. The calculations are exact; the AI interprets what they mean for you.
Can I create profiles for family members?
Yes. Steer supports multiple profiles, so you can keep charts for family, friends, or anyone else (with their permission). Each profile keeps its own chart and history.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and is never sold. See the Privacy Policy for details.
How do I delete my account?
Email support@steercorp.io with the subject "Account Deletion Request". We process the request within 30 days and confirm once your data is deleted.
How accurate are the calculations?
Every chart, dasha period, panchang, and transit is computed with the Swiss Ephemeris using NASA JPL data, accurate to a fraction of a degree.
What is the difference between Vedic and Western astrology?
Vedic (Jyotish) astrology uses the sidereal zodiac based on fixed star positions, while Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac. Vedic astrology also uses timing systems like the dashas. Steer follows the Vedic tradition.
Should I use Steer for medical or legal advice?
No. Steer is for personal reflection and self-understanding, and is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice. Always consult qualified professionals for important decisions.

Common issues & solutions
Unable to sign in
- Check that you have a stable internet connection.
- Make sure you are using the correct Google account.
- Clear the app cache and restart.
- Confirm you granted the app the necessary permissions.
App is crashing or freezing
- Update to the latest version of the app.
- Force-close the app and reopen it.
- Restart your device.
- Check that you have enough free storage.
- If it persists, email support@steercorp.io.
Birth chart not loading
- Confirm you entered complete birth details (date, time, and location).
- Check your internet connection.
- Refresh, or navigate away and back.
- Make sure the birth location is a valid city name.
